Who I am and how I work

I'm Marlena Trelka, a translator and interpreter with over 20 years of professional experience. I was born in Poland and have been living in Spain for many years, which allows me to move naturally between both cultures and their languages. I work mainly with Polish, Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.

I started my career as a tourist guide and interpreter, and since 2009 I have been working as a freelance translator. Over the years I have worked for companies in very different sectors: engineering, solar energy, cosmetics, food industry, technology, medicine, public administration and much more.

I specialise in technical translation, though I also enjoy more creative assignments: websites, marketing copy, legal documentation and, more recently, my own literary projects.

I work remotely and stay in constant contact with my clients. For me, smooth communication throughout the process is just as important as the final result.

When a project requires it, I draw on a trusted network of translators and proofreaders — all native speakers with university degrees and proven experience. Translations into Spanish are always verified by a native speaker.

I use CAT tools to ensure terminological consistency in large or ongoing projects.

"My work is defined by quality, punctuality and speed." — Marlena Trelka
